Julie Chen Moonves, who was among the first hosts and moderators of The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winning talk show) was back on the air August 5 for the 22nd edition. In the year she began writing that her true passion was revealed. Hosting an outstanding entertainment talk show earned her a second Emmy. The Talk examines contemporary events, through the lens of five female hosts. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News' early morning news show The Early Show for a 10 years. Before that she was the CBS Morning News anchor and hosts for The Early Show. After 9/11, she was sent to Cairo and tracked down the lead hijacker's father for an intense and shocking interview. Chen Moonves's interview subjects include journalists including ex- New York City City mayor Rudy Giuliani; Queen Rania Jordanian William Cohen (former Defense Secretary) as well as celebrities such as Denzel Washington. Prior to The Early Show he was the CBS owned station reporter at New York City, WCBS. When she was finishing her last academic year at the university, she worked as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and served as producer for ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). Her first broadcasting job was as a desk assistant to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline along with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalists' idols. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the Premiertime Special of Columbia du-Pont that looked at how the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
